Responsibilities & Context

The CBR Officer will implement, monitor, and support inclusive Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) activities in the community, focusing on the meaningful participation and empowerment of children and youth with disabilities across all CBR domains: education, health, livelihoods, social participation, and empowerment. The role involves close collaboration with families, community stakeholders, and service providers to create an enabling and inclusive environment. Key responsibilities include: - Conducting home visits to assess the needs of children and youth with disabilities and their families. - Supporting individuals with disabilities in accessing services such as healthcare, education, and vocational training. - Facilitating inclusive community activities to promote social participation and empowerment. - Organizing and participating in community meetings to raise awareness about disability inclusion and rights. - Building positive relationships with community members to foster a supportive and inclusive environment. - Addressing misconceptions and reducing stigma associated with disabilities through dialogue and advocacy. - Assisting in identifying and connecting individuals with disabilities to appropriate service providers. - Following up on referrals to ensure timely and effective service delivery. - Providing basic support and guidance to families in caring for children and youth with disabilities. - Maintaining detailed records of program activities, including beneficiary information and progress updates. - Regularly reporting on field activities, challenges, and achievements to the Project Coordinator. - Participating in program reviews and contributing to the evaluation of outcomes. - Participating in training sessions to improve knowledge and skills in CBR and disability inclusion. - Supporting peer learning and sharing best practices within the community. - Working closely with the Project Coordinator and other program staff to align field activities with program goals. - Providing feedback from the community to inform program planning and improvement.
