US-Bangla Airlines, a private airline in Bangladesh, is hiring for two roles in its Ground Support Equipment (GSE) department: GSE Maintenance Engineer and GSE Operations Engineer. The opportunity is aimed at young engineers who are interested in aviation and who want to build a career in the sector by putting their engineering knowledge to work.
Ground support equipment plays an essential part in airport operations. The start or completion of a flight depends not only on the aircraft and its pilots, but also on the GSE used to move an aircraft to its parking bay, handle passenger boarding and disembarkation, and transport cargo. The engineers recruited for these positions will be involved in keeping that equipment serviceable and safe.
The GSE Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for routine and emergency maintenance of GSE, identifying faults, carrying out repairs and replacing parts. Where the same type of problem repeatedly appears on a piece of equipment, the engineer will also be expected to investigate the underlying cause and take steps to resolve it.
The positions are full-time. Applications close on 15 October.

বিমানবন্দরে একটি ফ্লাইটের যাত্রা শুরু বা শেষ হওয়ার পেছনে শুধু উড়োজাহাজ ও পাইলটের ভূমিকা থাকে না। উড়োজাহাজকে পার্কিং বে-তে নেওয়া, যাত্রী ওঠানামা, মালামাল পরিবহনসহ বিভিন্ন কাজে ব্যবহৃত গ্রাউন্ড সাপোর্ট ইকুইপমেন্টও গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। এসব সরঞ্জাম সচল ও নিরাপদ রাখার কাজেই যুক্ত থাকবেন নিয়োগপ্রাপ্ত প্রকৌশলীরা।
মেইনটেন্যান্স ইঞ্জিনিয়ারের দায়িত্ব হবে জিএসইর নিয়মিত ও জরুরি রক্ষণাবেক্ষণ, ত্রুটি শনাক্তকরণ, মেরামত এবং যন্ত্রাংশ পরিবর্তন। কোনো সরঞ্জামে একই ধরনের সমস্যা বারবার দেখা দিলে এর কারণ খুঁজে বের করে সমাধানের উদ্যোগও নিতে হবে। পাশাপাশি যন্ত্রপাতির কার্যক্ষমতা, ডাউনটাইম ও রক্ষণাবেক্ষণের রেকর্ড পর্যবেক্ষণ করতে হবে।
অন্যদিকে, জিএসই অপারেশন্স ইঞ্জিনিয়ার সরঞ্জামের ব্যবহার ও পরিচালনা, সংশ্লিষ্ট দলের সঙ্গে সমন্বয় এবং নিরাপদ ও দক্ষ অপারেশন নিশ্চিত করার কাজে যুক্ত থাকবেন।
অভিজ্ঞতা: মেইনটেন্যান্স ইঞ্জিনিয়ার পদে মেকানিক্যাল, ইলেকট্রিক্যাল অ্যান্ড ইলেকট্রনিক, মেকাট্রনিকস, অটোমোটিভ বা ইলেকট্রোমেকানিক্যাল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিংয়ে স্নাতক ডিগ্রি এবং সংশ্লিষ্ট ক্ষেত্রে ২ থেকে ৩ বছরের অভিজ্ঞতা চাওয়া হয়েছে।
কারিগরি জ্ঞান, নিরাপত্তা সচেতনতা, দলগতভাবে কাজের সক্ষমতা ও সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়ার দক্ষতাকে গুরুত্ব দেওয়া হবে।
