Responsibilities & Context

Community Development Centre (CODEC) invites applications for the position of Technical Officer-Akelius Language Programme for implementing the 'Education and Protection for Refugee Children (EPRC)' Project funded by UNHCR, located at Ukhiya/Teknaf in Cox's Bazar. The Technical Officer will report to the Project Coordinator (PC) and will be responsible for technical support, guidance, and supervision in schools at the camp level. Key responsibilities include supervising day-to-day teaching-learning activities, observing school quality, providing technical support to teachers and Head Teachers, and working under the guidance of the PC. Duties: - Support teachers through supervision and classroom observation. - Implement Primary, Secondary, and ECE components by providing technical support, guidance, and mentoring. - Contribute to developing operational guidelines for these components. - Assist in validating information through monitoring and implementing M&E systems. - Track and follow up on teacher development issues. - Lead the development of Detailed Implementation Plans for the camp in collaboration with the PC. - Conduct regular on-site monitoring and support implementation of joint plans. - Facilitate learning and reflection discussions to improve teaching-learning. - Organize formative and summative assessments for learners. - Identify gaps in teaching-learning methodology and support teachers to overcome them. - Ensure proper use of materials through monitoring and support. - Organize project meetings, SMC meetings, monthly reviews, and planning sessions. - Pay special attention to refugee children's issues. - Supervise Head Teachers, assist in planning and implementation, and guide them to support assistant teachers. - Assess children's learning, track progress, and follow up on competency attainment. - Lead lesson plan development and class observations. - Lead monthly assessment question development with teachers. - Support capacity assessment and inventory of relevant staff. - Develop monthly training and refresher plans. - Prepare annual training plans for the EPRC project. - Support teacher/volunteer recruitment at camp level. - Manage support for field assessments and donor monitoring visits. - Maintain implementation and reporting standards. - Ensure program activities are implemented with community participation. - Implement CODEC feedback mechanism for beneficiary feedback. - Collect, record, and update case studies (at least 2 per year). - Act as a communication hub for camp-level information sharing. - Maintain data protection policy strictly. - Liaise with camp-level GoB/NGO officials and local leaders. - Attend camp coordination meetings and share results with management. - Assist in budget tracking at camp level. - Submit camp-level requisitions to the project office. - Physically verify office and school inventory. - Be willing to work in any natural disaster or emergency anywhere in Bangladesh. - Perform any other tasks assigned by the Supervisor.
