SOS Children’s Village International is probably the largest private child welfare humanitarian organization working more than 130 countries and territories in the world. In Bangladesh, we started our operations in Dhaka in 1972, and since then we have expanded our activities from here to Rajshahi, Khulna, Bagerhat, Chattogram, Bogura, Kurigram, Gazipur and Sylhet. Our Programmes contribute to delivering on SDGs with a special focus on our target group to improve national social protection system, fighting inequalities, promoting access to quality education, strengthening youth employability and ending violence against children. SOS Bangladesh is seeking competent candidates for the smooth operation of the following positions. • Project Name: JAGORON Project • Nature of Job: Multi years Project, Fixed Term Contract for One year (Yearly renewable based on performance) Mission of the Position: The Trainer- Financial Literacy is responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial management of the Partnership Projects by ensuring accurate financial recording, timely processing of payments, budget monitoring, and compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements. The position assists in maintaining proper financial documentation, preparing financial reports, supporting audits, and ensuring that project resources are managed efficiently, transparently, and in accordance with applicable financial procedures. Working closely with the Finance Department, implementing partner, and project staff, the Trainer- Financial Literacy will contribute to effective financial planning, budget control, cash management, procurement-related financial processes, and financial reporting to support the successful implementation of project activities. Key performance areas and main responsibilities: Financial Management • Support the day-to-day financial operations of the project in accordance with organizational policies and donor regulations. • Prepare payment vouchers, journal vouchers, receipt vouchers, and maintain supporting documentation. • Verify bills, invoices, payment requests, and supporting documents before processing payments. • Ensure all financial transactions are properly coded and recorded in the financial system. • Maintain accurate cash books, bank books, and financial registers. • Assist in maintaining petty cash and ensure proper reconciliation. Budget Management • Assist in monitoring project expenditure against approved budgets. • Support budget forecasting and budget utilization analysis. • Track budget balances and notify the Manager of any variances. • Assist in preparing budget revisions when required. Financial Reporting • Prepare monthly financial statements and expenditure reports. • Compile financial information for donor reports and management reporting. • Maintain proper filing of financial records and supporting documents. • Support preparation of financial forecasts and expenditure analyses. Compliance and Internal Control • Ensure financial transactions comply with organizational financial policies, donor requirements, procurement procedures, and applicable laws. • Maintain proper authorization and approval procedures for all financial transactions. • Assist during internal and external audits by providing financial documents and required information. • Support implementation of audit recommendations and internal control improvements. Procurement and Asset Management Support • Verify financial documentation related to procurement processes before payment. • Maintain records of project assets and support periodic physical verification. • Coordinate with procurement and administration staff to ensure financial compliance.
