SOS Bangladesh is seeking competent candidates for the smooth operation of the following positions. • Project Name: STEP Project • Project Type: Partnership Project in Partnership with IDEA, Sylhet • Location of job: STEP Project location, Golapganj, Sylhet • Nature of Job: Multi years Project, Fixed Term Contract for One year (Yearly renewable based on performance) Mission of the Position: The Assistant Project Officer – Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) is responsible for supporting the implementation of the project's Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) system to ensure timely collection, verification, analysis, and reporting of high-quality programme data. The position assists in tracking project progress, monitoring performance against approved indicators, maintaining project databases, and supporting evidence-based decision-making to improve programme quality and accountability. Working closely with the Project Officer (MEAL), Programme Manager, implementing partner, and project staff, the Assistant Project Officer (MEAL) will support field monitoring, digital data collection using platforms such as KoboToolbox and PDB2, data quality assurance, beneficiary database management, and routine reporting. The incumbent will also facilitate community feedback mechanisms, assist in conducting baseline, endline, and periodic assessments, document lessons learned and success stories, and contribute to organizational learning and donor reporting. The Assistant Project Officer (MEAL) will support the effective monitoring and documentation of all project components, including organizational capacity strengthening, livelihoods, disaster risk reduction (DRR), and child protection, while ensuring compliance with organizational MEAL standards, safeguarding principles, data protection requirements, and donor reporting guidelines. Main Clients: • SOS Children's Villages Bangladesh • Local implementing partner • Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) • Community Own Resource Persons (CORPs) • Government ministries and local government institutions • Donors and funding partners • Community leaders and project beneficiaries • Technical consultants and resource people • Project staff Job Responsibilities: Monitoring and Data Collection • Support implementation of the project's Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) framework. • Collect, verify, compile, and maintain quality project data in accordance with approved indicators and reporting requirements. • Conduct routine field monitoring visits to verify project implementation and progress. • Support baseline, endline, organizational capacity assessments (OCA), surveys, beneficiary profiling, and other assessments. • Monitor progress against project indicators, targets, work plans, and implementation schedules. • Ensure timely collection of sex-, age-, and disability-disaggregated data (SADDD) where applicable. • Verify beneficiary information and maintain updated project participant databases.
