Responsibilities & Context

Community Development Centre (CODEC) is seeking a Senior Officer for Sports for Protection (S4P) to implement the 'Education and Protection for Refugee Community (EPRC) Project' funded by UNHCR, based in Cox's Bazar District. The role involves planning and executing sports activities, coordinating with stakeholders, monitoring field activities, and ensuring protection-sensitive and inclusive participation. Key responsibilities include: - Support preparation and implementation of monthly and activity-based work plans for S4P activities under the guidance of the Technical Officer – S4P & Social Cohesion. - Implement approved S4P activities including sports sessions, sports clubs, coaching, friendly matches, competitions, sports events, and other sports-based protection activities. - Coordinate with sports groups, youth groups, players, field caretakers, community members, and relevant structures for smooth implementation. - Organize and facilitate sports activities ensuring participant engagement, use of materials, venue management, and quality. - Promote meaningful participation of children, adolescents, youth, girls, persons with disabilities, and other community members through inclusive approaches. - Use sports as a platform for positive engagement, teamwork, inclusion, life skills, and protection outcomes. - Conduct field-level monitoring of sports fields, clubs, sessions, matches, and events; report gaps to the Technical Officer. - Maintain coordination with CBP staff, CIC, Camp Protection Focal Point, UNHCR counterparts, community leaders, and stakeholders. - Identify challenges and operational needs (materials, equipment, venue) and communicate them. - Maintain records of activities, participants, teams, events, and programme information. - Document good practices, success stories, lessons learned, and achievements. - Participate in training, orientation, planning, review, and capacity-building sessions. - Ensure activities uphold Community-Based Protection approach, including participation, inclusion, accountability, safeguarding, and community ownership. - Comply with PSEAH, Child Safeguarding, Safeguarding, CODEC Code of Conduct, and humanitarian principles. - Prepare and submit regular reports (weekly, monthly, activity-wise) to the Technical Officer. - Maintain accurate records, attendance sheets, score sheets, photographs, and reports. - Collect and compile quantitative and qualitative information on activities. - Submit KoBo data accurately and maintain trackers. - Support preparation of UNHCR, donor, and internal reports and presentations. - Coordinate with Technical Officer, CIC, UNHCR, community leaders, and stakeholders. - Attend meetings and facilitate sports-related meetings and consultations. - Ensure safe and inclusive platform for community engagement through sports. - Abide by IASC's six core principles on PSEA and ensure team safety.
